AfrOrigens é um grande projeto de Arqueologia sobre a Diáspora Africana no Brasil.
Durante centenas de anos, milhões de africanos foram escravizados e trazidos forçadamente ao Brasil em diferentes tipos de navios, de maneira desumana para servirem como mão de obra nos trabalhos que formaram a riqueza desta nação.
Este ambicioso projeto de pesquisa busca respostas para questões que ainda são veladas, e com isto trazer ao grande público, no Brasil e no exterior, o debate sobre as viagens Atlânticas, e como alguns dos naufrágios desses navios escravagistas representam a materialidade, a prova destes crimes contra a humanidade.
Os Quilombos, desde suas formações até a suas situações atuais, estão intimamente ligados a estes navios da morte, e são parte essencial destas pesquisas e documentações.
Os dados obtidos pelo AfrOrigens serão disponibilizados para uso de outras instituições, como a Comissão da Verdade Sobre a Escravidão Negra no Brasil.

AfrOrigins is a great Archeology project about the African Diaspora in Brazil.
For hundreds of years, millions of Africans were enslaved and forcibly brought to Brazil in different types of ships, in an inhumane way, to serve as labor in the jobs that formed the wealth of this nation.
This ambitious research project seeks answers to questions that are still veiled, and with this to bring to the general public, in Brazil and abroad, the debate on the Atlantic voyages, and how some of the shipwrecks of these slave ships represent the materiality, the proof of these crimes against humanity.
The Quilombos, from their formations to their current situations, are closely linked to these ships of death and are an essential part of this research and documentation.
The data obtained by AfrOrigins will be available to other institutions, such as the Commission for the Truth About Black Slavery in Brazil.
